Wilson, a small town in North Carolina, that rose and fell at the hands of the tobacco companies. Today it fights to return to what it once was.

Wilson, NC.

During the rise of the tobacco companies, the town grew thanks to them, but over time and with the prohibitions and taxes that froze the industry, the town fell and people migrated to other cities.

Today it still has working plantations, but no longer in the tons it billed before.

Wilson, crossed by a railroad that still marks the difference between whites and blacks.

The abandonment is seen everywhere, abandoned houses and premises, even a Mall was abandoned in Wilson. It was almost impossible for a mall to close in the USA, but it did.

Wilson continues to fight to reinvent himself, thanks to a tire company, Barton College, Arts, and a few other companies.
