Undo

In my work I have always tried to convey the importance of representation of people of color, our routines, our struggles and the issues within our own community that have been neglected to be discussed in the household or even on a public platform. Which ranges from homosexuality amongst women and the upliftment of black men through cultural ties and items of our everyday use universally. In this new series, I am unpacking the idea of unraveling.

This was inspired by a Björk Gudmundsdottir song that I listen to every day called “Undo”. The lyrics states the affirmation and reassurance that life isn’t meant to be a struggle uphill or a strife and to undo if you are bleeding, sweating and crying. This song has had such an impact on my outlook of everyday life and my own anxieties of making my life something that I can be proud of.
