What is the norm and what is the anomaly? Can the world created in the forest, 15 minutes away from the city, be the same part of reality as the official world?

How to evaluate the influence of a social construct on a personality and its behavioral models? Can we call ourselves hostages of social systems that we involuntarily fall into immediately after birth? The state, city, society, family and other social institutions take over the functions of constructing a personality. To create the image of a man, to form aesthetic and ethical ideas about masculinity, the state and society use a system of social expectations that prescribe to a person a particular model of behavior and thinking. Asking what the individual can oppose the system in which he finds himself, we find the concept of escapism. The desire of the individual to get away from the current reality into new illusory worlds arises as a reaction to dissatisfaction with the system of public relations, the environment, laws and norms of behavior.

Using the deconstruction method, project participants rethink masculinity as one of the basic gender constants that defines our behavioral patterns. Deconstruction occurs through the destruction of a stereotype or its introduction into a new context. The urban environment and its related social structure (context that has been defining us throughout life) is confronted with a certain abstract forest as a new context in which changes in established behavioral patterns are possible. The spontaneous aesthetics of the forest are acting as an antagonist of urban aesthetics which, like modern human, are a product of social construction.

The forest becomes a metaphor of a new environment, and of a place where project participants the answer to the question: what do we allow ourselves to be when outside of the framework of social dictate? The role of photography is in immortalizing of actions that become organic in the created world.

When the country (Transnistria) in which you were born and lived all your life does not officially exist for the rest of the world, you involuntarily criticize the entire social system defining the framework, rules and social laws. What is the norm and what is the anomaly? Can the world created in the forest, 15 minutes away from the city, be the same part of reality as the official world?

The river separates the city from the forest. We cross the river and enter the forest.
