In the "Menos Pausa" project, I seek recognition of my body, which has been inhabited by menopause for the past 5 years. I share a delicate and in-depth gaze at this phase, aiming to fight the taboos still incredibly present nowadays.

The "Menos Pausa” project aims to give voice to women who reach menopause, proposing philosophical conversations that aim to break taboos and prejudices on the subject. With the loss of reproductive and even “decorative” function, the mature woman faces great social and cultural pressure. We should discuss the issue more openly in order to relieve these pressures.

In the first phase of the project, I immersed myself in research on the topic and sought to understand my body. From now on, it can expand to a more diversified perspective, by conducting interviews with other women and producing new imagery.

The project proves to be innovative by addressing a topic that is little debated, and also by combining striking visual elements with field research, which highlights the complexity and diversity of menopause. In addition to the photo essay, the project also includes other media, such as prints, watercolors, installation projects and even AI. I have been developing, therefore, a set of works that reflect on the journey within this universe that we must naturally cross, despite all the taboos that are still so present today. With this project, I intend to share a delicate, and profound body of work reflecting menopause, aiming to discuss the topic and fight all and any taboos still so present nowadays.
