Intertidal

The project encompasses visual fragments of Tubli Bay, where sewage discharge and industrial pollutants pour into its surrounding marshes.

Intertidal is a collection of images abstracting a common visual understanding of what is widely considered “coastal.” The project encompasses visual fragments of Tubli Bay, where sewage discharge and industrial pollutants pour into its surrounding marshes. What looks idyllic at first is in fact pools of sewage wastewater, mud, dead mangrove branches, and algal bloom.

The artwork invites a moment of introspection and contemplation on our relationship with coastal areas and how they adapt to their industrial surroundings.
