This project tries to capture moments of the summer of 2023. In some of the photos people appear with whom I shared that summer. After these images were captured, I entered a depressive process that has been very difficult for me to get out of.

This project consists of six photos, four of them taken on Mediterranean Sea beaches and the remaining two in swimming pools near the same sea.

At the same time, half of the photos are general photos of the place where we were, and the other half are portraits of the people who were with me.

Summer in the Spanish Mediterranean is very hot, almost suffocating, and the majority of the population in Andalusia have to have precarious jobs focused on tourism to survive.

However, it is important to remember how privileged we are to be able to enjoy these landscapes and take care of them, while claiming that these spaces continue to belong to us, although it is increasingly difficult due to mass tourism.

These photos are very important on a personal level, because after that summer, I fell into a very strong depression from which I am still trying to get out. Seeing these photos gives me hope, it reminds me of the good times I have experienced and that at some point I will be able to experience them again.

All images displayed in this project have been taken with a Canon Top Twin and Kodak Color ISO 200 film.
