Carte de tendre

Carte de tendre

“Carte de tendre” is a series inviting to explore, to experience the private, the familiar, the intimate, a “road movie” through a non place in which evocation and omen are latent.

Taking as a reference the old “Carte de tendre” or maps of an imaginary country named Tenderness from the 17th Century, in which place names were substituted by the “love stages”, the work proposes a journey in which the narrative is fragmentary, and the chronotope is altered. Only affection is important and through it we are inserted in the world.

This autobiographical journey started six years ago and explores those images being a fleeting glimpse of attachments, underlining the latency of a restrained gesture, the intimate and secret ritual, the concealment and the light, present as another character.
