Alejandro Chaskielberg PHmuseum Limited Edition Print

Alejandro Chaskielberg (Buenos Aires, 1977) is cinematographer graduated from the National Institute of Cinematography of Argentina. He was named World Photographer of the Year by the World Photography Organization and received the BURN Emerging Photographer Grant by the Magnum Foundation in 2009 and the Leopold Godowsky Jr. Award from the Boston University in the USA.

Based in Buenos Aires, he created projects in different countries such as Japan, Surinam, Kenia, Italy and Argentina and published three books. Alejandro has lived for three years in the islands of the Paraná River Delta to work on his first monograph La Creciente. His second monograph Otsuchi Future Memories documents the aftermath of the 2011 tsunami in a small fishing town in Northern Japan. His third book Laberinto is about a hedge maze built in the magical mountains of Argentinian Patagonia.

One of his latest projects, Pixels, explores people's obsession with screens, using smartphones to illuminate and colourize group performances in nature. Alejandro is working in his project Natur-e, a visual diary of his experience living in a tiny house in the forests of Patagonia during the 2020 pandemic.
