Black sex is forbidden is an immersive virtual and physical installation, made up of digital projects (Photography/Video art) that explore the phrases: Black death is permitted and Notes of the Negro. These projects employ Plantation's body and symbolic elements to examine Black diasporic suffering and the institutionalisation of Black death. They follow Plantation as she performs in homes across France and Nigeria; photographing and recording her bare body as she collaborates with black communities, creating a visual world centered on highlighting black decay and systemic oppression. With revolution at its core, the visual world’s imperative is to create spaces where black audiences interrogate the brutalities they have experienced. They watch her body bend and perform in black homes, with symbolic materials, animal parts, and blood, and their stories are reflected- victims of white supremacy, capitalism, and patriarchy.

The virtual installation will be launched as an interactive website; inspired by Solange Black planet, it will serve as a platform for viewers to see the visual project as a world with its own subjects and bodies- moving from place to place to highlight the layers of black experience. The physical installation would consist of two modules; the first will be community based installations across France- photographs from Black sex is forbidden will be printed on cloths and unconventional materials. They will be publicly exhibited in black communities or presented in black homes; ultimately, having direct conversations with the black diaspora, highlighting their struggles, and confronting them with ideas of black liberation. And the second module, will be an installation exhibited in an abandoned building in Lagos, Nigeria, in efforts to use neglected spaces to explore the effects of systematic oppression, and interact with marginalised communities.
