The inner struggle between me and my environment is something I will always have to bear with me. People like me, who were born in Belgium, but were raised according to their parent’s values, have to deal with a certain amount of insecurity and struggle with their identity. They often find themselves in the position thoughts about who they really are and where they really belong to. This is why often they lead a double life in order to satisfy both parents and the community. This struggle however brings a lot of questions to the surface. Because of this inner struggle between myself and my environment, I started to express this in my artwork.
