World Press Photo Announces 2020 Joop Swart Masterclass Nominees

The list of 196 includes our nomination Robin Alysha Clemens and many other photographers recognised within our latest grants. Among them, 12 will make it to Amsterdam in September.

The World Press Photo Foundation has announced the 196 nominees for the Joop Swart Masterclass, from which the 12 participants will be selected. Among them we are happy to have granted the nomination to Robin Alysha Clemens, winner of the New Generation Prize of the PHmuseum 2019 Women Photographers Grant.

Of the 196 nominees, 50% identify as female, 49,5 % as male and 0,5% as non-binary. In terms of global regions, 14% are from South America, 10% are from Oceania & Southeast Asia, 12% are from North & Central America, 23% are from Europe, 21% are from Asia and 20% are from Africa.

The 12 photographers who will attend the Masterclass this September in Amsterdam will be announced in April at World Press Photo's Annual Ceremony. Stay tuned!
