Photo L.A. / Los Angeles, USA / January 12 - 15

Celebrating its 26th edition this year, Photo L.A. continues its long and rich history of bringing the photographic and fine arts communities together. Over 40 galleries and museums will present a series of exhibitions and an extensive public program comprised of lectures, roundtable discussions, special installations, and docent tours, has been designed to spark critical debates about the state and future trends of photography and the art of collecting. Some of the standout events include The Female Gaze: A Conversation Exploring Women's Identity in Contemporary Photography (Moderated by Megan Steinman, Director of The Underground Museum); Arpad Kovacs of The Getty Museum and Rebecca Morse of LACMA in conversation with artists Carter Mull and Samira Yamin; Penelope Umbrico in conversation with Eve Schillo, Assistant Curator, Wallis Annenberg Photography Department, LACMA; When the Lights Come on in the City: Night Photography in an Urban Environment with Brian Leary; A Glimpse into the Artful Eye of Fashion Photography with Gregg Cobar; and a workshop with Mark Edward Harris which explores the art of travel photography. Circulation(s) / Paris, France / January 21 - March 5

Circulation(s) festival is dedicated to the dissemination of European photographic diversity and it acts as a springboard from which young talents can launch their careers. The main goal of the festival is to widen ideas and experiences through the exhibition of visual artists from across the world. The primary shows this year are Sanne de Wilde, The Island of the Colorblind; Michele Borzoni, Looking for a Job; Sam Ivin, Lingering Ghosts; Sonja Hamad, Jin - Jiyan - Azadi (women, life, freedom) - The female Kurdish freedom fighters; Martin Errichiello and Filippo Menichetti, In Quarta Persona; Mafalda Rakos, I want to disappear; Wiktoria Wojciechowska, Sparks; Theodor Papadakis, Home Again; Sasha Maslov, Veterans: Faces of World War II, and Corentin Fohlen, Lumane Casimir.
