As every year, the Italian photography festival, Cortona On The Move offers you the opportunity to present your work in front of a selected panel of industry professionals. The portfolio reviews will be held on 14 - 15 July at Palazzo Ferretti (Via Nazionale 45) during the opening week of the festival, when photo editors, curators, and photographers will gather together in the heart of Tuscany.
There are several reasons to book your slot(s). Reviewers will provide meaningful feedback on your work and help you explore the most effective ways and media to exploit its potential. Portfolio reviews also grant you an opportunity to expand your personal network, understand industry dynamics more in depth, and participate in the festival in a propositive way. Selecting the most appropriate reviewers often depends on the nature of your work and your personal goals. Before booking, ask yourself if you are aiming, for example, at publishing on international media, self-publishing a photobook, or learning how to edit the project for the web and create your own online audience.
Here you can learn more about the reviewers and book a basic slot (20 minutes) or apply for a premium slot (60 minutes).
A jury composed of all the reviewers present in Cortona will also award prizes offered by Visura, a US networking platform for photography, arts and media professionals. The best five works presented during the 2017 edition of portfolio reviews in Cortona will grant their authors an invitation to join the platform. The top photographer will be given a Prime membership, while the 4 runners up will each receive a Plus membership. All participants will receive a 50% discount to Visura's Prime membership. PHmuseum has been a media partner of Cortona On The Move since 2015. This year a PHM 2017 Grant submission (Ilona & Maddelena by Sandra Mehl) was handpicked by the festival's Artistic Director Arianna Rinaldo and will be granted a solo show at the upcoming edition of the festival, while PHmuseum Director Giuseppe Oliverio will be joining the festival as a portfolio reviewer.
