PHmuseum is glad to present a second annual grant aimed at supporting womenphotographers. The PHM 2017 Women Photographers Grant aims to empower the work and careers of female and female-identifying professionals of all ages and from all countries working in diverse areas of photography. It further means to facilitate the growth of the new generations and promote stories narrated from a female perspective, while responding to the necessity to fight against gender discrimination withinthe industry.

Applications will be reviewed by Donna Ferrato (Photographer), Alessia Glaviano (Senior photo editor for Vogue Italia and L’Uomo Vogue and Web Editor of Vogue.it), Rebecca McClelland (Director of Photography, Art Buyer and Creative Director) and Daniella Zalcman (Photographer, Founder of womenphotograph.com).

The Grant will offer £8,000 in cash plus several additional relevant prizes meant to create real opportunities to promote the work, education, and careers of the awarded photographers. All the winning works, including 9 honourable mentions, will be projected at Photo Vogue Festival 2017 in November in Milan, Italy, and granted promotion on the PHmuseum channels. Recipients of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Prizes and the New Generation Prize will also be granted an online publication on YET Magazine.

The New Generation Prize, aimed at photographers under 30 years of age, offers the winner the possibility to choose and attend one of the renewed ISSP Summer School of Photography workshops in 2018. It will also grant an automatic nomination for the World Press Photo 2018 Joop Swart Masterclass.

The PHM 2017 Women Photographers Grant is open for submissions and photographers can benefit from a £15 early bird fee during the first two weeks of the application window. The submission deadline is set for 12 October 2017 at 11:59pm (GMT).
