in blue

My work deals with the idea of time, personal identity as a construct and memories. In my project 'In Blue' I try to make visible the feeling of loneliness, isolation and trying to cope with oneself alone in a series of self-portraits. The applied color blue embodies the inner and outer chaos, all the thoughts, insecurities and fears for the future that have been amplified by the pandemic and with which one has remained increasingly alone.

The feeling of being alone became so overwhelming at times that one could lose oneself in it.

At the same time, however, blue symbolizes the longing for togetherness, community, hope and re-creation. As much as the blue takes over the space and the person, it also creates the space to develop and grow within it.
