Fernando Criollo

Photographer

Images are powerful and our ancestors understood this long ago.

The interest in photography comes from the infinite possibilities of leaving doors open for discussion, allowing us to travel to other worlds and to open eyes to the worlds right here, in addition to their power to turn tangible and identifiable places into supernatural and timeless moments. The images are powerful and our ancestors understood this long ago. With his work, he tries to rescue, revive and invoke the mystique of those who were before us to continue on the path of building our identity.

Co-founder of the Pariacaca Collective. Currently working on subjects related to violence, spirituality and nature. In 2018 he had my first individual exhibition titled "Uku Pacha" (The World Inside). That same year he exhibited at the "Singapore International Photography Festival". In 2019 was chosen to participate in the artistic residency at the ISSP school in Riga, Latvia. In 2020 he exhibited in "La Nuu" Photography Festival” in Barcelona, Spain and was winner of the National Short Film Competition in Peru with his first short film “Summits and Ashes” which was also selected and premiered at the “IX Al Este Film Festival”, in Lima - Peru.
