'On the Human Inability of Resurrecting Things' (2013) is a critique on human attitudes that have disregarded natural areas and traditional cultures by focusing solely on ‘economic growth’. Example of these attitudes are the damming of rivers (in Brazil mainly for hydropower purposes) and the burning of natural areas for the enlargement of pasturelands. The intervention I make with textiles in reservoirs and burnt areas emphasises the impossibility of bringing back to life ecosystems and livelihoods as free-flowing rivers are confined and landscapes carbonized.
