The essay show the backstage of a bodybuilding competition, held in Rio de Janeiro in April 2014. Competitors need a lot of patience, ink and training. The event could last hours and never know exactly when it will end.
It depends on the progress of the dispute. The bodies must be carefully painted with a strong red ink which simulates a heavy tan. Only the eyes and hair are left out. According to the physical education teacher Rildo Souza, 48 years old, 26 of them dedicated to bodybuilding, the skin painting highlights the muscles on stage.
"A lot of patience and love for the sport is necessary to support the training and the skin covered of ink for hours. And We never know when it will end".
The competition took place at the Arnold Classic 2014, fair organized by actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has in Brazil one of its stages.
