FRANCISCO MATA ROSAS (Ciudad de México, 1958)

Graduated in Social Communication Sciences at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana-Xochimilco.

Master's Degree in Visual Arts at the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

Full-time professor-researcher in the Communication career at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Cuajimalpa unit.

Belongs to the National System of Art Creators of Mexico, since 2000.

He has participated in more than 130 collective exhibitions and has had more than 80 individual exhibitions in 51 countries: Argentina, Algeria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Belize, Bolivia, Bosnia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Chile, China, Ecuador, Scotland, Spain, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Finland, France, Guatemala, Honduras, the Netherlands, Hungary, England, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Kenya, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Romania, Russia, Saint Lucia, Serbia, South Africa, Ukraine, Uruguay and Venezuela.

Acquisition Prize at the Biennial of Mexican Photography, 1988.

Award of Honor in the Bicentennial Contest of the French Revolution, Mexico-France, 1989.

Third Mother Jones Fund for Documentary Photography, USA, 1993.

In 2009, he was nominated for the Henri Cartier Bresson Award in France, postulated by the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago, USA.
