Clara de Tezanos (Guatemala, 1986): Guatemalan artist and cultural ambassador. She studied at an early age at Speos School of Photography in Paris and at PARSONS in Paris. She was a assistant plateau for MarieClaire and Cosmopolitan magazines in Paris in 2006 and 2007, as well as for prominent French fashion photographers. In 2009, upon her return to Guatemala, she co-founded, together with Juan José Estrada, the photography school La Fototeca and the GuatePhoto Festival. As director of the project, she has curated international exhibitions, directed editorial projects, designed the academic programming of the La Fototeca school and has been a teacher since its foundation. Also, as a curator she has worked on each edition of the GuatePhoto Festival, the Fototropía gallery and Espacio Satélite among others. Due to her cultural career, she was awarded and named as Guatemalan Entrepreneur Woman of 2015 and Ambassador of Culture for the United States Government Programs in Guatemala. As an artist, since 2009 she has exhibited her work in collective and individual exhibitions in the country and internationally. Her series ‘Todos somos Marías’ was published in The New York Times in 2011. In 2018, she published the book ‘Piedra-Padre, Universe’, a visual poem that compiles 10 years of photographic archive, recognised with awards by numerous renowned competitions within the international environment. This presentation also included her solo exhibition at La Erre in Guatemala City.
