About Pongo


Pongo started photography in a documentary fashion, which he gradually merged with snapshot and diary styles. His long term project in Congo DR, “The Uncanny” has earned him several international awards and world-wide recognition. His short movie “The Necessary Evil” was shown in Belgium, Italy, France, Switzerland, and aired during Arles’ Festival of Photography in 2016. His work was published in the Guardian UK, CNN, and in several other magazines and online publications.

He was chosen as one of PDN’s 30 New and Emerging Photographers to Watch in 2016.

His photographic career is shared between his long term projects in Congo DR, his involvement with the Congolese art scene, and assignment work.
