New Land
New Land questions the idea of the territory as a topographic characteristic that defines and determines a place. It analyzes the base materials that compose the territory, encodes them in an image-language, and finally allows them to be artificially replicated. In this scenario, photographs and redesigned materials coexist and raise the condition of territory to a universal status.
This project has been developed by analysing the topographical structure of the Netherlands. The transformations that the Dutch territory has undergone, determine a land designed and manipulated in all its extension. New Land rethinks this capacity of transformation from a zero degree, acting as a supernatural model of the known landscape.
