Luisa Hübner works with photography, video and objects, constructing surreal settings that explore the subconscious. In her staged photographs she uses herself as a model, sometimes re-enacting bodily experiences. Luisa's artistic approach is intuitive and led by visual associations. Her most recent series - which is still in progress - shows the artist interacting with found and self-constructed objects in a somehow strange, unnatural way. The body and objects become sculptural creations fallen out of context and time. In their clean aesthetics, the photographs explore the relation of form and perception while inviting individual narrations.

"I use my camera as a tool to explore the unconscious, introspective, capturing visual associations. Picturing ambivalences of absence and presence, of hiding and revealing. What I am showing is part of an alienated reality, providing space for own projections."

Luisa Hübner studied at the Friedl Kubelka School for Artistic Photography and is currently studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna.
