Photographic case study based on atmospheres that emerge from the psychological burnout that follows our contemporary society.

“Today we live in a world that is very poor in interruption; “betweens” and “between-times” are lacking.” Byung-Chul Han, The Burnout Society

"When the Dust Settles" is a photographic case study based on atmospheres that emerge from the psychological burnout that follows our contemporary society.

Through the landscape, the project captures the imprints of exhaustion inherited from hyperactivity and consumption. The undefined spaces become projections of the internal struggles that we face as individuals, the anxiety and depression that comes from an excess of positivity and freedom.

The imagery depicted confronts the acceleration of today's world with intermediate spaces that offer an opportunity for deep attention, contemplation, and reflection.

The series title metaphorically refers to the particles of our identities that lie in the places we inhabit. These sites manifest the uncertainty that arises in an ambiguous emotional climate of nostalgia and longingness.
