Welcome to the PHmuseum Intersection Vol.1 - A Photo Exhibition Prize!
This document defines the Terms and Conditions (Terms) that govern your use of the PHmuseum Intersection Vol.1 - A Photo Exhibition Prize (Interesection Vol.1 or Prize) webpages. These Terms apply between You (You or Entrant), and PHmuseum Ltd (PHmuseum or We), the United Kingdom-based corporation with a registered office at International House, 24 Holborn Viaduct, EC1A 2BN, London, United Kingdom, Company Number 09474210, owning and operating the phmuseum.com website, all the related websites and services and the Photographic Museum of Humanity trademarks.
By ticking the Terms and Conditions box, clicking the Pay and Submit button in the Prize submission process and completing the entry fee payment, You participate in Interesection Vol.1 and You hereby acknowledge and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before applying to Interesection Vol.1.
1. General rules
The Intersection Vol.1 begins on 23 November 2020 at 12:01 am Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and ends on 15 December 2020 at 11:59 pm (GMT). Entrants can participate by clicking on the Apply Now button available at phmuseum.com/is1 and following the guided submission process.
Entrants must be at least 18 years old as of the date of entry. Collaborative projects are accepted. Each Entrant can submit one or more “Project”, defined as a set of photos built around a concept or a topic. Each Project must feature a minimum of 6 photos and a maximum of 20 photos that will be taken under consideration by Intersection Vol.1 Judges. Photos shall be uploaded in Jpg or Jpeg format and each individual photo cannot weigh more than 10 Megabytes. The first Project submission is free of entry. To complete any following submission of a Project, the Entrant shall pay an entry fee of GBP 20 (or EUR 20 or USD 20).
Winners will be announced on phmuseum.com/is1 within 90 days of the deadline or extended deadline day. By accepting these Terms You agree and accept that the decisions of the Judges are final on all matters relating to Intersection Vol.1. The Prize is void where prohibited.
2. Exhibition Prize & Judges
Intersection Vol.1 will offer a €1,000 cash prize to be invested for the production of a solo show at Associazione Culturale Fonderia 20.9 Via XX Settembre 67/a – 37129 Verona C.F. 93259460231 P.Iva 04631370238 (Fonderia 20.9) and the travel expenses to attend the exhibition's opening. If the prizer winner resides outside of the European Union a further €500 will be available to cover the travel expenses.
The prize will be assigned by Judges Mariela Sancari, Francesco Biasi, Chiara Bandino, Giuseppe Oliverio and Rocco Venezia before 31 January 2021.
3. Candidates undertakings
By ticking the Terms and Conditions box, clicking the Pay and Submit button in the last step of the Prize submission process and completing the entry fee payment, You participate in Intersection Vol.1 and You hereby acknowledge and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
By doing so, You also acknowledge and agree to:
- a) authorise the exhibition of your Project at Fonderia 20.9 gallery in Verona, Italy for a period of 90 days with the opening date being not later than 30 September 2020.
- b) provide HIRES images and all information (introduction, biography, captions) according to the deadlines and requirements as defined by the Fonderia 20.9 production team.
- c) authorise PHmuseum to permanently display your project in the results page phmuseum.com/is1 in case is awarded a prize or an honourable mention.
- d) authorise PHmuseum and Fonderia 20.9 to use images from the Project on their social channels, their respective website and on third parties social channels and website with the sole purpose of promoting the exhibiton.
By accepting these Terms and entering Intersection Vol.1 You warrant that all the information submitted is true, current, and complete. You also warrant that You have all the necessary consents in relation to your entry and that You are the copyright owner of any copyright works submitted, e.g. photographs, texts, drawings, and PHmuseum's use of such works will be at no charge, will not infringe the rights of any third party, and You will fully indemnify PHmuseum in the event of any infringement.
You also acknowledge that the full names of the winners may be published by PHmuseum, and You grant to PHmuseum a non-exclusive perpetual, worldwide royalty free license to use and publish your entries in whole or in part in any media form whatsoever, for the sole purposes of the current and future Prize’s editions promotion.
If the photographs contain any material or elements that are not owned by the Entrant and/or that are subject to the rights of third parties, and/or if any persons appear in the photograph, the Entrant is responsible for obtaining, prior to submission of the photograph, any and all releases and consents necessary to permit the publication, exhibition and use of the photograph in the manner set forth in these Terms without additional compensation. If any person appearing in any photograph is under the age of majority in their state/province/territory of residence the signature of a parent or legal guardian is required on each release.
4. PHmuseum undertakings
PHmuseum commits to collaborate with Fonderia 20.9 in order to produce the exhibition at competitive with the total expenses to cover the show production and the prize winner travel expenses that will be sustained by Fonderia 20.9 up to a maximum of €1,000. PHmuseum further commits to offer up to €500 to cover the travel expenses of any prize winners residing outside of the European Union.
PHmuseum will notify the prize winner at the email address associated to the respective winners’ PHmuseum accounts within 90 days after the Prize closing date. The winner will have 15 days from the day he or she will be notified to answer PHmuseum and claim the prize. If PHmuseum is unable to notify the winner, or if the winner fails to respond within the fixed time period as specified, this may result in forfeiture of the prize and PHmuseum reserves the right to select an alternative winner in accordance with these Terms and the Prize information.
PHmuseum commits to always mention the author copyrights. When You submit photographs to the PHmuseum website, You remain the copyright owner of the photographs You submit to the PHmuseum website and PHmuseum does not claim ownership over the photographs. By ticking the Terms and Conditions box, clicking the Pay and Submit button in the Prize submission process and completing the entry fee payment, You submit Your Project to Intersection Vol.1 and You make the following representations and warranties:
- a) You can lawfully enter into contracts under applicable law and You are at least 18 years old;
- b) You have obtained and have copies of model releases from all subjects depicted in the photograph(s) You submit to Intersection Vol.1, and such persons voluntarily consented to publication and/or dissemination of their likeness for all legal purposes.
Neither PHmuseum nor Fonderia 20.9 nor their associates, affiliates or partners assume any responsibility for photos submitted in violation of these Terms. Images that demonstrate violations on copyright and/or Prize policies will be removed & disqualified by PHmuseum after due investigations.
6. Limitation of liability
By participating, Entrants agree to release, discharge, and hold harmless PHmuseum and each of their respective partners, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, agents and their employees, officers, directors, and representatives from any claims, losses, and damages arising out of their participation in Intersection Vol.1-related activities.
PHmuseum assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, or delay in operation or transmission; communications line failure; theft or destruction of or unauthorised access to Prize entries or entry forms; or alteration of entries or entry forms.
PHmuseum is not responsible for any issue with or technical malfunction of any online computer systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, human errors of any kind, or any combination thereof, including any damage to Entrants’ or any other persons’ computers related to or resulting from participation, uploading, or downloading of any materials related to this PRize.
Neither PHmuseum nor its servants, agents, nor any other party or organization involved in the management, promotion, or administration of the Prize or its entry routes or donation of prizes or their agents or subsidiaries involved in the Prize will accept responsibility or liability for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft, destruction, alteration of, or unauthorised access to entries, or entries lost or delayed whether or not arising during operation or transmission as a result of network availability, server functions (including but not limited to security functions by software used by PHmuseum or any third party), virus, malware, trojans, bugs, or other causes outside its control.

8. Right to cancel or suspend the Prize
If for any reason the Prize is not capable of running as planned for bugs, worms, trojan horses, denial of service attacks, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of PHmuseum that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Prize, PHmuseum reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Prize.
PHmuseum cannot promise that the services relating to the Prize will be free from errors or omissions nor that they will be available uninterrupted and in a fully operating condition. These services may be suspended temporarily and without notice in the case of system failure, maintenance or repair or for reasons reasonably beyond the control of PHmuseum. PHmuseum will not be liable in the event that all or any part of the service relating to the Prize is discontinued, modified or changed in any way.
