  Bio

  Anna-Kaisa Rastenberger is Professor of Exhibition Studies and Spatiality at the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of the Arts Helsinki.
  Rastenberger has previously worked as a curator, author, researcher and teacher both in Finland and abroad; since 2009, she has held the post of Chief Curator at The Finnish Museum of Photography. She has extensive experience in exhibition projects, curating practices and the international exhibition scene of the contemporary arts. Ms Rastenberger is interested in art practices and display in both physical and digital environments. Her special interests are new forms of photography as contemporary art, exhibition as critical practice, running, feminism and digital environments. She holds a PhD in Art History from the University of Helsinki. Rastenberger is also an artistic director and co-founder of ‘The Festival of Political Photography’.
  The Academy of Fine Arts organises approximately 50 exhibitions and numerous public performances of various types every year, and they make up a part of the studies and degrees. It is the goal of tuition at the Academy of Fine Arts to emphasise interaction between exhibition practices and spatiality in the arts, and to generate new perspectives on the theories and philosophy of art and spatiality. The responsibilities of the Professor of Exhibition Studies and Spatiality will include both Praxis the Master¹s Programme in Exhibition Studies and the Exhibition Studies and Spatiality modules intended for all students.

  Bio

  Azu Nwagbogu is the Founder and Director of African Artists’ Foundation (AAF), a non- profit organisation based in Lagos, Nigeria. Nwagbogu was elected as the Interim Director/ Head Curator of the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art in South Africa from June 2018 to August 2019. Nwagbogu also serves as Founder and Director of LagosPhoto Festival, an annual international arts festival of photography held in Lagos. He is the creator of Art Base Africa, a virtual space to discover and learn about contemporary African Art. Nwagbogu served as a juror for the Dutch Doc, POPCAP Photography Awards, the World press Photo, Prisma Photography Award (2015), Greenpeace Photo Award (2016), New York Times Portfolio Review (2017-18), W. Eugene Smith Award (2018), Photo Espana (2018), Foam Paul Huf Award (2019), Wellcome photography prize (2019) and is a regular juror for organisations such as Lensculture and Magnum.
  For the past 20 years, he has curated private collections for various prominent individuals and corporate organisations in Africa. Nwagbogu obtained a Masters in Public Health from The University of Cambridge. He lives and works alternatively in CapeTown, South Africa and Lagos, Nigeria.

  Bio

  Roderick van der Lee is the Fair Director of Photo London, an International photography fair championing the best in photo history, photo present and photo future.
  Previously he was founder and director of Unseen Photo Fair, the Amsterdam based international photography fair with a festival flair, focused on new developments in photography.
  Prior to that, he has worked at Foam Photography Museum and auction house Christie’s. As an independent artistic director he has curated many photography exhibitions and installations that have been programmed throughout several continents, among which Kyoto Photo Festival, Paris Photo, PhotoEspana, Unseen Photo Fair & Festival and World Press Photo.

  Bio

  Born in Jordan and educated in the United States, Tanya Habjouqa resides in East Jerusalem and is a member of NOOR. A photographer, artist, and educator—her work stems from long-term investments and collaborative methodology, blending ethnographic research and investigative reportage. Examining details of conflict in the Middle East, Habjouqa addresses the presentation of these conversations by western media outlets.
  In recent years, her projects have been commended by the likes of TIME, Smithsonian and World Press Photo.  Habjouqa is known for producing sensitive work underscored by the absurd.
  She is a mentor for the  Magnum Foundation initiative, "Arab Photography Documentary Program” and teaches workshops internationally. She is trained in journalism and anthropology with an MA in Global Media with emphasis on Middle East Politics from University of London SOAS. Her work has been exhibited worldwide and is in the permanent collections of the MFA Boston, Institut du Monde Arab, and the Carnegie Museum of Art. She is represented by East Wing and Ilex galleries.
