In the wedding photo album of my parents there is a group photo with my mum and dad in bridal clothes around the work colleagues of her dressed in their work uniforms. They are smiling and so happy for the wedding day and this kind of family portrait is the reference for my homage to my mum.
Fifteen female faces I have impersonificated. The 70's period was in her eyebrows and hair, but I don't know anything about their life, only any suggestions that my mother told me. So, I have given an identity and a little story to each of them to narrate the working condition of Italian Women during the 70's and 80's.
A pregnant woman was often fired from work and any union supported her status and rights. A sort of danger, the pregnancy; a social crossroads between being a mother or a productive worker.
These worker identities are a pretext to denounce the condition of exploitation and illegal work there was and there is in many Italian factories.
