This body of work includes portraits of American adult actresses shot on digital and alternative-processed film. The evolution of the adult industry is inseparable from the larger story of American culture. Current circumstances have pushed adult film stars to self-produce and sell their content through online platforms, such as OnlyFans and TikTok. In the process, porn actresses are becoming more self-directed and autonomous. This project depicts them as independent, sensual, artistic entrepreneurs. The work is a creative collaboration between the female photographer and her subjects, bringing a new authorship to an age-old genre of imagery.
