Guided by photographer Laura El-Tantawy participants will be introduced to photography as a vehicle for individual storytelling. This 8-month program will delve into different modes of 'personal' stories, by questioning storytelling and its different media. At the end of the program, one o more participants will be granted an opportunity to exhibit their projects at PhMuseum Lab.

Criticae 2022 / Online Documentary Masterclass

12 participants will have the opportunity to expand their research methods and develop their documentary work under 8-months guidance from Laura El-Tantawy.

Under the guidance of Niccolò Fano, founder and director of Matèria gallery in Rome, participants will work on the development of a personal curatorial concept and receive the tools to structure a coherent exhibition proposal. Through this Masterclass you will obtain a comprehensive understanding of exhibition design practices, research processes, archival standards, legal and bureaucratic frameworks and finalization requirements tied to the production of a solo/group exhibition.
