Tajikistan Kefir + First Bicycle Ride

These photos were taken while cycling in a remote location along the Tajikistan side (Pamir Highway) of the Wakhan Valley corridor. The subjects live 100 km from the nearest homestead.

Each day the mother and daughter meet to make kefir, in an act of love and community. The bicycle ride happened at the same location, and followed the kefir making so rapidly in succession - and with the same feeling - that I can only consider them as a single event..

The finished narrative is a 2 minute video of about 100 stills.

The entire event happened without prior notice. Within an hour everyone disappeared into the mountains.

I never saw them again.
