Anupam Diwan was born & brought up in Chhattisgarh, India. Drawing from childhood, he uses photography to explore his past and identity alongside having an affinity towards nature & people. Followed by sketching, he started taking pictures early during mid-school, from a camera bought for the family trip. Soon after receiving a degree in engineering, he moved to Mumbai to pursue photography as a profession. Following an interest in storytelling, he studied at Pathshala South Asian Media Institute, Bangladesh in 2016-17. Currently, he is based in Pune and works as an independent photographer. Also, he is working on different personal projects in India & Nepal.
His works have been featured on Invisible Photographer Asia (Singapore), Fisheye Magazine (France), PIX (India) and was shortlisted for Lucie Foundation Emerging Photographer Scholarship in 2017. His work was also exhibited at Singapore International Photo Festival in Oct 2018, and is currently part of another exhibition 'Ellipsis: Between Word & Image' in Jaipur. He was a participant at Angkor Photo Workshops in Dec 2018.
