2009 - 2019
The corpus "Under the eyes that few minutes exhaust" is composed of colour and black and white photographs, created over time, of my encounters, my movements and the landscapes I have traversed.
The photographs are invitations to daydreaming, triggers of stories to tell, the beginning of an inner film, fictional spaces to be invested by the spectator. The photographs evoke more than they describe.
The use of the chemical process of cross-processing - a technique used in silver photography consisting in developing a colour film in an inappropriate chemical solution - allows me to show pictorial and dreamlike images, detached from reality.
There are the poetic motifs that are dear to me and that mark the corpus: the dazzling, the night, the women with long brown hair like self-portraits, the sleepers, the embraces, the children - as the figure of the dreamer, of the one who has an imaginative relationship with the world -, nature - the trees, the foliage, the water, as dream materials, the still lifes. Bright breakthroughs and abyssal views are metaphors for breaches in reality.
This long term serie finds its place in a work around the photographic image envisaged as both emergence and erasure, appearance and disappearance, epiphanic time, mysterious and poetic trace.
