A dead octopus washed up on a beach in Northern Cyprus - holding this lifeless body in my hand conveyed an overwhelming feeling.

A dead octopus washed up on a beach in Northern Cyprus - holding this lifeless body in my hand conveyed an overwhelming feeling. This marked an Anthropocentric moment for me. I couldn't help but feel as if the creature had been born in the Holocene but due to human intervention was leaving in the Anthropocene. In the background was the sound of thudding UK dance music from a nearby party beach.
