Seoul is known as an energetic and contemporary city, yet, as considering history, it is only an ostensible station.

This city has been a capital since 1396, and the Middle Age and Modern society have been being in one city, suffered a colonial era and the Korean War. Furthermore, it was changed too fast during the economic development plan by the government from 1960 to 1980. For 88' Seoul Olympic, the government forced the poor to leave in the center of the city, they get lost it abode with small recompenses in order to show off the clean city to foreigners.

Under the Right-wing party from 2008, the government publishes a slogan to economic revival by construction, and it has happened again. The government simply erased the poor in the heart of the city. 'To vanish poverty' is the only that it wants. Nevertheless, the administration was changed, the basic principle is not changed because politicians only want the next power and the rich's votes.

These photographs are taken in centered old towns in Seoul where have to be thrown out by the execution. Cheonggyecheon and Dongdaemoon were the most popular industrial area and the nest for the low incomer in the economic development era, they have to be out due to it looks poor and the price gets high without alternative solutions by the Seoul metropolitan government. This government aims to build luxurious apartments and hotels for tourism. However, a city is toward the citizen. This is the reason the city makes alive. Also, a town in a city has to be mixed with the poor and the rich because it is natural. A city as a material is an inorganic substance, yet so far, the citizen makes this organic matter.

This project is a record in vanished Seoul in 2020, and this is a way of the protest against the power which destroys the city as an organic one. For the record in real, all photographs are taken by 35mm film.
