Mongolian Beauty

During my time in Mongolia, I had the pleasure of interacting with the local people all over the country. Although I do not speak Mongolian, the group I was traveling with included two people who were fluent and acted as translators for the rest of us. We were able to stay in their homes, eat their food, and listen to them share stories of Mongolia's rich history. I loved learning about the Mongolian culture and way of life, and it occurred to me that most of the people that I knew in the United States didn't know very much about it. Prior to my visit, my knowledge of Mongolia was limited to what my high school world history class taught us about Ghengis Khan. Following this realization, the guides of the group, who were Mongolian born and raised, expressed to us their feelings that their beautiful country did not get the recognition it deserved from the rest of the world. This compilation of photographs is my attempt to share a glimpse of Mongolia's vibrant culture and breathtaking landscapes, by way of capturing the people living their everyday lives against a backdrop of beauty.
