Anna Orłowska was born in 1986 in Opole, Poland. She recently graduated from the Photography Department at the National Film School in Lodz where she received her master diploma. In october 2012 she started Phd studies. Since 2008 she has also studied in the Institute of Creative Photography, Silesian University in Opava, Czech Republic. Her project The day before was selected for the ‘reGeneration2: Tomorrow’s Photographers Today’ exhibition, presented at the Musée de l’Elysée in Switzerland, Aperture Foundation in New York, at the Pingyao International Photography Festival in China and many other gallerys and institutions all over the world. Author of several individual exhibitions: Soaking in in Lookout Gallery in Warsaw, Private Maps in Gallery ZPAF & s-ka in Krakow, Leakage at TIFF International Photography Festival in Wroclaw and Lodz Fotofestiwal. She also participated in numerous group shows including exhibition at the Forward Thinking Museum (NYC), at the Month of Photography in Bratislava, Prague Photo Festival and more recently in the Gallery of Contemporary Art Bunkier Sztuki in Krakow. She is also the recipient of the Artistic Scholarship from the Marshal of the Łódź Voivodeship and from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
