On Stillness

On Stillness aims to capture fleeting moments of calm in my immediate surroundings - using these photographs as gentle reminders and a roadmap to make my way back to stillness & presence.

We’ve all experienced moments of stillness. They normally arise when our nervous system is calm and we feel a sense of safety in our internal and exterior landscape. Cultivating a sense of tranquility is a very laborious and somewhat impossible state to reach most of the time. We might momentarily experience peace when we’ve moved & oxygenated our physical body or on a Sunday afternoon when all responsibilities have been set aside. But for most people internal stillness seems like a far away place.
