Eight Traps

Protecting our own interests, we build barriers and borders. For the sake of the good we are ready to wreak havoc. The good justifies our deeds. One’s hopes and expectations are traps for others. What are the borders of the complex concept of good?

Protecting our own interests, we build barriers and borders. For the sake of the good we are ready to wreak havoc. The good justifies our deeds. One’s hopes and expectations are traps for others. What are the borders of the complex concept of good?

In each of these images there is a trap hiding into beauty - Be careful and patient, and You will find it. This series requires a moment of reflection. How can You define Your "Good"?

01. Den. Metal snares

Inspired by the struggle between farmers and wild boars in my village.

Image about protecting our goods from the enemies.

02. Marks. Trees to felled

Cutting down biggest trees allows smallest to grow – on this level, sacrifice of ones is the hope and chance for others.

03. Entanglements and apples

Like nature, we build barriers and borders – to protect our own interests. Especially now - we stand in front of refugee cases. How much we can (and should) share?

04. Decoy

Fishing. Hopes and expectations of ones could be a traps for others.

05. Pit. Lost sheep

Who will come first, a predator or a shepherd? Image about helplessness and hope.

06. Burned grass

Old grass and weeds are destroyed - but also everything else. In this image You can find dead bird, incinerated plants, snail shells - the only living thing is a venomous snake. Short-sighted “self-interest good” can be a bane for others.

07. Poison source. Dead fish

Ponds like this are extraordinary events in the nature. View like that hits with a fairy-tale beauty. However, the longer inspection reveals the dead fish and rubbish. Indeed, this is poisoned, cluttered place.

Beautiful ideas can tantalize and attract. Just look at human history - for the sake of something great, leaders and people performed worst deeds...

08. Path

How we can avoid “Fool's Gold”? How we can find the “Good Path”? We aren't perfect, but definitely - we should try.
