The project „Für mich“ is the artist’s autobiographic story of sexual abuse. Sina Niemeyer uses multiple layers of material such as old family pictures, destroyed images, self-portraits, objects and short texts.

Originally layed out as a book, this is a short excerpt from Sina Niemeyer's work "Für mich." It is her first approach working on a very personal level, tackling an issue creatively that has haunted her for many years. Although it is her individual story, the work is transferrable to numerous women. For instance in Germany, her home country, every fourth woman has experienced a form of sexual abuse in her life. But still, it is a topic that isn't being spoken about a lot and victims often feel left behind by society.

So the work does not only give a raw insight view into someone's feelings and struggles when experiencing sexual abuse, it also wants to raise a discussion and shift the problem towards the center of society's attention.
