A proverb attributed to the Arabs tells us that we must wash our eyes between two looks. Photography seemed to me the best way to do that and become a fair witness of life.

Not easy thing to talk about what you do, and why and how you do it. When you produce pictures, you may well prefer to leave to others the care of talking about it, if they want to, and to light you on yourself.

I don’t have sea-legs, nevertheless I like long-term journeys, solitary crossings in this still vast and surprising world. It’s my method to disturb the ordinary.

I observe the constructions of men, their houses, their communication channels, their multiple traces. I observe people here and there, I follow them, wait for them and take them in pictures. They happen to notice and observe me in turn.

Photographing what I see, not what my camera sees, I make few pictures but enough to see clearly, to try to complete the unlimited puzzle of what we are.
