In her series “Love re-search” Latvian artist Annemarija Gulbe captures intimate and revealing situations between her friends and acquaintances. Wandering through Riga nightlife as a distant observer she attempts to understand what it means to be in love as she never experienced the feeling herself.
“I'm searching for an answer to why is it that I'm not searching for it [I do it] by observing others search. Perhaps my incomprehension is evolving into a fearful urge to find out more. Not directly. Still by watching. Does eye contact seem to have an immediate effect? I'm neutral.”
