The project Fata Morgana started in 2015, stemming from a personal need to explore my region of origin, in south Italy. The elements of migration and transition have marked my memory since my childhood and are the lenses through which i structured the storytelling, between fiction and reality.

Fata Morgana” is the name of a complex mirage that distorts objects and then fades very quickly.

The Fata Morgana is visible from my region in the southern part of Italy, Salento. Salento, like all of Europe, has recently become a false place of wonder and hope for the people who are fleeing their homes in search of a better life.

These pictures represent a metaphor for our geopolitical situation, which quickly transforms reality into myth and myth into reality. This situation constructs imaginary lands and lives, constantly shifting the horizon of the destination that is dreamed about.

My series "Fata Morgana” is comprised of symbols or situations that offer a new conception of themes related to migration and the immigrant labor market.
